The Humphries Families

     Edward Humphries,my Great Great Great Grandfather, born around 1885 to 1890 in Cornwall, England. He married Mary, so far the last name is unknown. Edward and Mary had one child that I have been able to trace so far, he is, Richard Humphries. 

     Richard Humphries is my Great Great Grandfather. He was christened in 1812 on August 30th in Dymock, Gloucestershire, England. From I.G.I. records I have determined that he married twice. First to Alice and a second time to Mary, perhaps Alice died. He had children only to Alice, they are;

Elizabeth Humphries, born about 1847 in Mordiford, Herefordshire, England.
Edward Humphries, christened 1849-November-4th in Mordiford, Herefordshire, England. My Great Grandfather.
Richard Humphries, christened 1851-December-30th in Mordiford, Herefordshire, England.
James Humphries, christened 1853-December-25 in Mordiford, Herefordshire, England.
Emma Humphries, christened 1856-September-14 in Mordiford, Herefordshire, England. 

     Edward Humphries, my Great Grandfather, christened in 1849 on November 4th in Mordiford, Herefordshire, England. He married Josepha Ivey in 1873 on October 16th in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales. They had six children;

Mary Humphries, born about 1874 in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales.
Edward Humphries, born 1875 in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales.
William Humphries, born about 1878 in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales.
Richard Humphries, born about 1880 in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales.
Frederick Humphries, my Grandfather, born in 1883-March-09 in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales.
Edith Humphries, born about 1886 in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales. 

     David Matthew Jones, my Great Grandfather, born about 1841 in Briton Ferry, Glamorganshire, Wales. He died in 1912 in Neath, Glamorganshire, Wales. David married Margaret Ann Thomas about 1865 in Neath. They had seven children:

Mary Hannah Jones, my Grandmother, born 1880-September-03 in Neath, Wales.

     Margaret Ann Thomas, my Great Grandmother, born about 1846 in Bettws, Carmarthen, Wales. She married David Matthew Jones about 1865 in Neath, Wales. See above for more family information. 
     Joseph Ivey, my Great Grandmother, born about 1853 in Gwinear, Cornwall, England. Her parents were, Henry Ivey and Maria Johns. Josepha married Edward Humphries in 1873 on October 16th in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales. Prior to her marriage, Josepha worked as a general servant in the Mamhilad Rectory.      Frederick Humphries, my Grandfather was born in 1883 on March 9th in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire, Wales. Frederick married Mary Hannah Jones in Neath, Glamorganshire, Wales in 1904 on December 28th. They had two daughters in Wales and then emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1907. In Winnipeg they had four more children. The six children are;

Ivy Margaret Humphries, born 1905-March-04 in Neath, Glamorganshire, Wales. Died 1991-January-18 in South Africa.
Winifred 'Doris' Humphries, born 1906-December-26 in Neath, Glamorganshire, Wales. Died in 1989-June-02 in Bremerton, Washington, U.S.A.
Frederick Thomas Humphries, born 1909-November-12 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Died in 1976-August-19 in Victoria, B.C. Canada.
Verbeena 'Mary' Humphries, born 1910-November-22 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Still living.
Ivey 'Irene' Humphries, my mother, born in 1913-February-02 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Died in 1994-November-05 in Victoria, B.C. Canada.
David Thomas Humphries, born in Winnipeg and died at birth. 

     Ivey 'Irene' Humphries, born in 1913 on Frebruary 2nd in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She move with her family to Victoria in 1914. She married Ralph 'Rodney' Keighly in 1938 on June 4th in Victoria. They had two children. She divorced Rod in 1948 and remarried to Arthur Daykin. Arthur adopted her two sons and their last name changed from Keihgley to Daykin. Irene's and Rod's two sons are;

Robert Charles Keighley, later became Daykin, born 1939-May-04 in Victoria, B.C. Canada.
Michael Leslie Keighley, later became Daykin, born 1941-July-12 in Victoria, B.C. Canada .
