Mammoth Ivory Mosaics are crafted from the tusk's of the
extinct wooly mammoth found in Canada's north land.
They are inlaid with ammolite and semiprecious gemstones,
by artist Rusty Pimm.Ammolite is Alberta's contribution to
the world of gems.
Recongnized in 1981 by the International Colored Gemstone
Commision, it is derived from a mineralized fossil called ammolite,
deposited 70 million years ago in ancient sea beds found only in
Southern Alberta. As such, it is one of nature's rarest gems,
and a prized addition to any jewelery collection.
