Have you asked
your users what they would suggest to make your site easier to
navigate? At the school where I work, the Web site is used by
a number of students I see on a daily basis. Their suggestion?
Make pages relate to the names of teachers and not to the names of
the courses they teach. Thus, the "Teachers' Pages" index was
born. Now, users know that it will be easy to find information
related to the person they see in the classroom every day.

Usability Resources
I use a number of
sites on the Internet to help make my designs more useful and
easier for my Web users.
Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox,
is a personal favourite, with opinionated and informed advice.
Another, is WebWord.com, which
publishes a regular e-mail newsletter and has a useful archive of
links to articles of interest as well. Keep abreast of
developments at these two sites and then apply your knowledge
to your own site. I think you'll be pleased with the results.
