Freestyle's
introductory courses are designed to provide newcomers with
a taste of what cruising under sail is all about.

The
introductory concept frees you from the necessity of
committing to the expense of a full course before you are
ready.

|
Freestyle's
introductory and basic sailing course formats suit those who
prefer to cruise as a couple, rather than sharing
their experience with strangers.

for use on board our vessels
Freestyle's "Try
It Out" course
You and your friend will
spend one day cruising on our sailing yacht, while getting the
feel of what sailing is like. You will be introduced to sailing
by an experienced and highly qualified instructor who is also a
boat builder and an offshore sailor.
Your instructor will
answer your questions about: cruise and learn courses, bareboat
chartering, cruising inshore or offshore, provisioning and other
concerns you may have. He can also point out some of the
pitfalls and joys of buying your own boat.
The cost quoted, for this
course includes the yacht and the instructor. You would bring
your own lunch.
Cost: $350.00 plus 6% GST
Freestyle's "Get a
Taste of Cruising" weekend for two
You will board Friday
evening, depart Saturday morning, and return to Sidney on Sunday
afternoon.
You will be introduced to
the cruising lifestyle while you sail amongst the picturesque
Gulf Islands. Our knowledgeable instructor will guide you
through the basics while you experience the joy of sailing for
the first time. He will willingly share anecdotes of his
experiences and will gladly answer questions you might have
concerning regular course offerings, cruising, sailing,
chartering, shopping for your own boat, and much more.
You will enjoy your
second night on board while at anchor in one of the popular Gulf
Island anchorages. Once the yacht is safely anchored you may may
relax and have dinner on board, choose to go ashore and enjoy
the ambiance of a local marina pub or you may prefer an
exhilarating after dinner walk, to complete the day.
On Sunday you will up
anchor and spend most of the day learning more about handling
the yacht while you sail towards home.
The cost quoted for this
course for two, includes the yacht, the instructor and
provisioning.
