You know when you dream of meeting someone but you know it'll never come true.  Well, one hot day in August my dream DID come true.I've been going to Jays games all season and each time had hoped to catch a glimpse of Billy Koch, my favourite baseball player. Never had I imagined that I'd meet him, but I did.  I was listening to the radio one day and I heard about this Grand Opening of a fitness club.  This fitness club had invited special guests which included this boxing champ, a supermodel, and of course BILLY!  I called the club and they said, "the Grand Opening is TODAY!"  I winced a little because I was scheduled for work that day but I got out of it and low and behold, I was at the fitness centre meeting the amazing 101mph fastball pitcher (and VERY handsome) William C. Koch. I was really nervous to go up and talk to him but held my breath and smiled.  He   was so down-to-earth and polite, we had an AMAZING talk! One thing that I  asked was why his eyes were so bloodshot (although they still looked like those gorgeous crystal-clear green eyes). He told me that he was fishing (his fave hobby) all day so he was very tired. He was so cute in his striped polo shirt and blue jeans...it's weird to see a Jay without their uniform on. Anyways, he was very courteous and you can tell that he was raised good because his manners were excellent. I've got quite a few pictures with him and I... a photographer from this Ocean Drive Magazine took a couple and even sent them to me! He was also overwhelmingly tall (I knew he was 6'3"  but he looked much taller than that! .............I went home SOOO satisfied that I had met the BEST BLUE JAY in T.O.
That was one of my many special encounters with the Jays.  A few weeks later I was lucky enough to meet Carlos Delgado and watch Mike Matheny try to play tennis.  But no matter who I meet I will always consider the day I met Billy as the most spectacular day ever!
