Welcome to the Ucluelet Consumers' Co-op! 

Our newly renovated Ucluelet Consumers' Co-op supermarket features fresh produce, a meat/deli, in addition, we have a full hardware department that includes automotive, gardening, and clothing items.  Interior renovations as well as a computer system upgrade completed at the beginning of the year now provide us with spacious display and wider aisles for a more pleasant shopping experience as well as a year 2000 compliant computer system.  For your shopping convenience, payments by Visa®, Mastercard®,  and Interac® are accepted at the store.  Membership is not required to enjoy our services!

A Co-op is a business - with a difference! The difference is that the Co-op is locally-owned and controlled by its members.  Application for membership is as simple as filling out an application to purchase shares in the Co-op for a membership fee of $10.00.  One becomes a Co-op member-owner upon approval of membership by the Board of Directors.

On the surface, the Co-op looks very much like any other local retail business. However, unlike other businesses, any savings generated by the Co-op are returned to the member-owners, proportionate to the amount purchased from the Co-op during the year. These member savings accumulate as equity in each member's share account.  Last year, our member owners earned $85,000 equity and cash-back.

Co-operative offers both economic and social benefits. While the Co-op is committed to operating efficiently in providing goods and services to our owner-members and their families, we also recognize our social responsibility to help improve the quality of life in our community.  Last year, the Ucluelet Co-op contributed over $4,500 to the area which benefited many organizations.  Read more about Co-op's contributions to our community in the Co-op News section.
